What if I don't want Allison to go to High School?
Went to the High-School meeting at NGMS tonight. They went over each High-School, the application process and scheduling. Luckily, Allison is 'zoned' for Garner Magnet High School. So we do not have to apply. So really the only thing I wanted to know were the deadlines for registering and what classes to choose from. The schedule submission date started the Monday after track-out so I wanted to make sure that Track 1 didn't get missed. But we could do it online, so that eased my mind. High school? Really? In August, I am going to have a child in High School. Really? Is it too late to turn back? I don't think it has set in. Im not sure it will. Im sure Ill be saying this in another 4 years when she is preparing for college. UUgghhh!

Goodbye to you.....DirecTV that is...
Dad had gotten AT & T U-verse awhile back, so I was asking a ton of questions. Dad said the biggest thing was that you had to be within a certain distance of the fiber-optic lines. But all in all, I felt like it was going to give DirecTV a run for their money. I have had DirecTV for probably 15 years, and I was looking for a change.
One day 2 AT & T salesmen came up explaining I was on the list of AT & T customers (cell phones) and they were letting us know that U-Verse was now available. I laughed, and said this is going to be your easiest sell all day. So, we switched. Took about 15 minutes for him to set it up, got installation set up for the very next week and added internet service so I could leave Time-Warner cable AND I am saving about $60 a month! Woot Woot!
I am very satisfied so far. We get HD in all the rooms for no additional charges per receiver. We can record and watch any show in any room, which makes it great for the kids. The internet is superfast, which, again, is great for the kids. And I get an additional discount on my cell phone service, yippee!

Catch up....
Nothing much has been going on lately, other than me working way too much! I guess alot of that 'work ethic' comes from my Dad. If I have an appointment or vacation I will mark my calendar off, but other than that, I never take time off. It usually takes a month or so after a vacation to get back into the 70-80 hour weeks but once I get in that mode, its hard to get out. And when I do end up with a day off, I end up sleeping and not really getting any home improvement projects or anything else done.
And I have a ton to do as well as many trips that are popping up. Heading to Vegas in March. I can't wait. Meeting up with Alicia, who I haven't seen in probably close to 9-10 years. I can't wait.
Then taking Brianna, Parker, my two and me on a Carnival Cruise to the Bahamas in June. Brianna & Parker haven't been on a cruise before, so Pam is working on their passports. I absolutely LOVE getting to spend time with Brianna & Parker so this is going to be a blast. I think I am more excited than the kids. I still am looking for another adult to go with me, so if anyone knows anyone that wants to head out for a cruise to the Bahamas, let me know.
Then comes July....Shell Island. With the girls! The adult girls, that is. We are going to have a blast. Another week of rest and relaxation. Allison will be out all summer but Lauren will be back in school in July, so not sure how Im going to work that out, but somehow I will.
August....Royal Caribbean, Freedom of the Seas...look out! Mark and I got adjoining balconies on the aft of the boat. 7-night cruise to the Western Caribbean out of Port Canaveral. Haiti, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Mexico, somewhere else...I can't remember but we are going to have soooo much fun! I have a plan for someone to go with me, but nothing confirmed yet. I sure hope it works out. It would be an awesome 8 days or so. Maybe actually get him to R-E-L-A-X, which he needs to do!
So it looks like a very great year. Still tons of home improvement projects in order to attempt to get the house on the market this year. HVAC needs replaced. $5000, what a bargain. ha ha.
Lauren's room is the next one to be completed. Was hoping to get it done this week but no, go, so far. Lauren has a 'hoarding' problem. Or maybe its just called a 'junk' problem, I don't know. Not sure where she gets it from. But I refuse to clean her room any longer. Once she gets everything out, Im pulling the popcorn off the ceiling, replacing the ceiling fan, priming and painting the walls, need to add more organizational items to the closet and some 1/4 round moulding and thats it. I had already done her floor years ago, so her room should actually be the quickest of the 3 bedrooms.
AT & T came today to hook up U-Verse. I have had Direct-TV for probably 20 years. AT & T gave me a deal with tv & internet for about $60 a month less than what I was paying, so heck yeah Ill sign up. Dad had gotten it and he liked it, but from what I heard you had to be near a fiberoptic line. An AT & T rep came by last week to let me know they had just installed fiberoptic line outside the subdivision, so it was perfect timing. So cancelling the Direct-TV and the Time Warner internet service will be done early next week.
There never seems to be enough time in the day to do everything I need to do. Time goes by way too fast.
